Torreblanca is a town in the La Plana Alta area on the coast of the province of Castellón, between the towns of Cabanes, Benlloch and Alcalá de Chivert. It has 5,885 inhabitants (2007 census).
Torreblanca lies to the south of the Sierra de Irta on the Costa Azahar. Its name is traditionally believed to come from one of the old watchtowers: the Torre de Doña Blanca. Its Mediterranean climate and sea breeze give it a very pleasant temperature in winter, and the coastal mountain range that goes from NE to SW acts as a screen that blocks out cold air and provides shelter from northern and western winds. You can reach the town from Castellón on the N-340 or the AP-7 motorway (exit 44). It also has limited rail access (RENFE).
Leisure, rest and nature. Costa Azahar Mountain Bike Centre welcome point, BIKE-FRIENDLY accommodation.
